The Veiled Truth of Life-or-death

This is a story about a series of murders in Victorian London, inspired by a friend of mine who chose euthanasia due to her ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). As her friend, having witnessed her pain firsthand, I respected her choice. However, such an act is neither legally nor morally permissible. After a period of research, I found similarities between Victorian society and the current backdrop, and decided to set the story in this era, presented through traditional illustrations. The narrative, which revolves around Dr. Lareina assisting terminally ill patients in ending their lives, illustrates that even with a special status, one cannot accomplish societal redemption. I want to use this story to tell people: individuals have the right to decide their own life and death.

I turned into a cat

Xiaozhuzi strictly disciplined at home, feels unhappy and prays to a witch to turn her into a cat in the hope of gaining freedom. However, as a household cat, she finds no joy and escapes, beginning a life of wandering. Soon, she struggles to find enough food and leads a miserable life. On a snowy day, when she is nearly freezing to death, the witch appears and turns her back into a human at her request. But as a price, Xiaozhuzi loses her freedom forever.
